About Us
Who We Are
The All Texas Athletic Center is a competitive Epee Fencing program that applies a systemic, pedagogically driven, approach to teaching the sport of Fencing. We take the long view on growth and development of our athletes. We do not chase medals or ratings, instead electing to pursue progress and performance.
Our methodology has produced outcomes our fencers aspire to, with students attending and competing for the top universities in the country, as well as achieving consistent national results.
Our History
The All Texas Athletic Center was originally founded by John Moreau (OLY) in 2002. The program offered classes at Texas State University for many years, serving as a tool to educate the public on the sport of Fencing and encouraging physical fitness in young people.
During this time the club also gave the university team a means to further their competitive training, helping clench 15 state collegiate championships. In 2016 Coach Moreau accepted the head coaching position at University of the Incarnate Word’s Division 1 NCAA Fencing program. Coach James Basler, a former student of Moreau’s, has recently taken over the program with John’s blessing.
